Sharps
- Sharp increases the pitch of the note by a half step, e.g:

- Double sharp increases the pitch of the tone by a whole step.
Flats
- Flat decreases the pitch of the note by a half step, e.g:

- Double flat decreases the pitch of the tone by a whole step.
Natural Sign
- Natural sign cancel the effect of a flat or sharp, e.g:

The Order of Sharps and Flats
It is very useful to remember the following order of sharps and flats, because you can use it in the circle of fifths and the circle of fourths.
