We talked earlier about the best online metronomes, but here is a metronome that you can download and use for free. Zetronome is both standard metronome (Beat mode) and drum beats metronome (C-Beat mode). You can swap between these two modes by pressing “Swap” button (see the image below).
In this mode, Zetronome is a standard click-clack metronome. You can change the number of beats (time signature) by pressing the “Beat” button:
and then simply increase or decrease the corresponding numbers. For example, 3/4 means three quarter-note, 7/8 means seven eights-note. Time signatures are 4/4 by default.
Also, you can change tempo by pressing the “Up” and “Down” buttons, or by moving the slider button.
In this mode, Zetronome becomes a custom drum pattern metronome. That means that you can make and save your own custom drum patterns. All you have to do is to select samples and to place them into preferred lines.
For example, in the image below, kick drum is in the 1st, the 3rd, the 7th and the 9th line, snare is in the 5th , hi-hat is in the 5th and the 9th, and the cymbal in the 1st line.
You can hear your custom drum pattern by pressing the “Play” button, and you can save it, if you are satisfied with how it sounds. When you finish your pattern, press “Apply”, then “Play”, set the tempo and it is done.
